Cece is a pet form of Cecilia, which comes from the Roman family name Caecilius, itself rooted in the Latin caecus, meaning "blind." Despite that literal root, Cecilia became strongly associated with Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music, softening the name's association over the centuries.

Cece is bouncy and sweet, easy to say twice in a row when you're calling a companion in from the yard. It suits a lively, affectionate pet with a bit of sparkle.
